The Port of Harlingen Authority is responsible to the taxpayers of the district to build and maintain the wharf and dock facilities at the Port of Harlingen so as to promote the development of waterborne commerce to and from its wharves, to promote the economic growth, the creation of jobs and quality of life in the district and the Rio Grande Valley.

Principal Cargoes

Imports: Gasoline, diesel, concrete sand, cement, fertilizer

Exports: Raw sugar, grain, cotton
